Salman, Sohail Select Bobby Deol As Captain
Dharmendra's son has a new role in the CCL competition which goes into its fifth season today
Bobby Deol will lead Sohail Khan's CCL (Celebrity Cricket League) team Mumbai Heroes in the fifth season which began today.
Aftab Shivdasani, who led the side last year, has been asked to step down from captaincy. However, he continues to remain in the team as a batsman. Suniel Shetty captained Mumbai Heroes in the first three seasons.
Bobby, who spearheads the bowling attack, was inducted in Mumbai Heroes team only in the second season. Suniel Shetty (who led the side for three consecutive seasons before Aftab replaced him) and Sohail Khan were the ones to chose him, after being bowled over by his bowling skills.
A source close to the development says, "Most players in the team wanted Aftab out from captaincy."
While Salman does not play for the Mumbai Heroes, buzz is he does give his word of advice on the game to his younger brother Sohail.
Earlier, Dubai was Mumbai Heroes' home ground. Now, it will be Ahmedabad.
Also, Lisa Haydon (who made her Bollywood debut in Akshay Kumar starrer Shaukeens) has replaced Chitrangada Singh as the brand face of Mumbai Heroes.
Bobby started off with a 6-wicket win for Mumbai Heroes against Riteish Deshmukh’s team Veer Marathi.
